Abstract
380,655. Auxiliary charge admission devices. SYME, J., of New Motor Service, Somerset Road, Cape Town. Dec. 1, 1931, No. 33342. [Class 7 (ii).] In an internal-combustion engine fumes from the crank case are carried to the induction pipe through a pipe having disposed in it a cylindrical chamber 8 formed with ports 9 leading to an outer casing or bye-pass 10, the aperture in one of which is adjustable by a screw 11. The cylinder accommodates a piston 13 adapted to close the lower part 9 when it is drawn down the cylinder, against the action of a spring 12, by the suction of the induction pipe. On reduction of the suction when the throttle is opened, the spring raises the piston and fumes from the crank case pass through the outer casing 10 to the induction pipe.
