Abstract
378,072. Gas furnace burners; valves. BRAYSHAW FURNACES & TOOLS, Ltd. and BRAYSHAW, S. N., 2, Mulberry Street, Hulme, Manchester. May 6, 1931, Nos. 13327 and 23524. [Class 75 (i).] A gas-heated furnace A, such as described in Specification 119,553, [Class 51 (i), Furnaces and kilns, Combustion apparatus of], is provided with a single rotary plug valve B with two separate passages for gas and air respectively, or with two plug valves D, D<1> geared together, so as to supply a constant or approximately constant proportion of gas and air to the burners at any position of the valve or valves. The latter are provided with toothed wheels or quadrants e<1>, e<2> in mesh with a pinion e on a shaft E<2> operated by a handwheel E calibrated to indicate in conjunction with a fixed pointer E<1> the position of the valve or valves. A damper F in the flue G is operated simultaneously with the valve or valves by means of a lever H actuated by a scroll or screw-thread f on the shaft E2. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 4416/82, 16571/98, [both in Class 75, Lamps &c.], and 302,714, [Class 75 (i), Burners &c.].
