220,818. Herbert, Sir A., Vernon, P. V., and Harrison, H. T. Sept. 7, 1923. Blowpipe burners. - The gas and oxygen supply valves H, J of a blowpipe burner A are provided with arms H<4>, J<4>, having pins H<5>, J<5>, engaging cam-slots H<6>, J<6> in a slidable plate K connected through a rack-rod K<2>, and a pinion K<4> to a spindle K<5>, which carries a lever K<7>, connected with an igniter, and a hand control lever K<6>. On moving the latter in a contraclockwise direction, the gas is turned on by the pin H<5> entering a part H' of the cam-slot H<6>, when the igniter has been moved into its operative position and, after ignition, the oxygen is turned on by the pin J<5> engaging the end wall J' of the cam-slot J<6>.
