Abstract

171,142. Thompson, W. P., (Cruse & Co., H.). July 28, 1920. Closure members ; indicators, applications of.- In a liquid or vaporized fuel burner the plug 21 of a cock controlling the fuel supply is fitted with a sliding ring valve 23 governing the fuel passage 22, and is also coupled with a rotatable sleeve 6 formed with tangential air passages registering with tangential air passages 5 formed in the burner tube 3 so that by turning the plug simultaneous regulation of the fuel and air is effected. The slide valve 23 is operated by means of a spindle 28 screwing into a piston 27 which is vertically slidable in the plug 21 and is connected to the slide valve by a pin 26 slidable in slots 25 in the plug. The handle 29 on the spindle 28 is provided with a pointer indicating the adjustment of the slide valve on a scale 30 on the plug.
