742,080. Valves. NU-WAY HEATING PLANTS, Ltd. May 4, 1954 [May 11, 1953], No. 13033/53. Class 135. A liquid fuel control valve comprises a cylindrical body member a, Figs. 1, 2, and a slidable closure member g guided in bores c, d in a closure cap e and the body a respectively. The outlet end of the closure member is formed with a V or other section notch of gradually increasing depth to provide a gradually increasing opening of the valve. The closure member is actuated by a rotatable eccentric m mounted in a recess k and formed on, or secured to, a spindle n carrying a lever o which may be operated manually or automatically by a thermostat &c. responsive, e.g., to the temperature in the combustion chamber of a furnace or the water in a boiler. A supply of fuel to the burner in idling condition may be maintained by setting the lever o to allow a restricted opening of the groove j or by a by-pass passage p having an adjustable plug q.
