Abstract

1,131,975. Valves. P. KREIS. 2 June, 1966 [15 June, 1965], No. 24590/66. Heading F2V. A thermostatically controlled regulating valve for liquid or gaseous media such as the fuel supply of gas- or oilfired heating apparatus comprises a cylindrical valve chamber 2, an axial flow duct 4, a lateral flow duct 3, a piston 6 with an axial spigot 7 for entering and closing the axial flow duct, and a bellows 21 for displacing the piston under the control of a liquid thermostat (45, Fig. 3, not shown). A by-pass bore 16 is provided in the spigot which is biased into the open position by a spring 10. The temperature dependent closing point of the valve is adjusted by means of a hand wheel 28 and a threaded cap nut 25 having a self-looking action. The valve and thermostat are mounted on a plate (40).
