[Class 80 (ii).] Gearing automatically varying with the load comprises centrifugal masses M connected by chains E to cranks D on a load shaft A<1>. The masses M are carried round by a casing C fast on a driving-shaft A and are radially movable therein. In the arrangement shown, the weights M slide freely in radial guides a in the casing. In a modification, the weights are constrained by being connected to the casing by pivoted links.
