Abstract
376,419. Washing-smoke &c. UNDERFEED STOKER CO., Ltd., MOUNT, H. C., CURREY, C. F., and CROZIER, J. D., Aldwych House, Aldwych, London. May 14, 1931, No. 14285. [Class 55 (ii).] Flue &c. gases flow through a horizontal chamber containing two or more sheets of spray, the nozzles 3, 4 being staggered so that the gases which pass through one sheet of spray where the latter is thinnest impinge upon the next sheet where it is thickest. Further cleansing is effected bv means of sprays 5, 6 and staggered rows of baffles 51, 5<2>, 6<1>, 6<2>; the latter may be mounted to rotate in order to vary the resistance offered to the passage of the gases. The resulting sludge is pumped to a filter plant 9. Specification 13359/92, [Class 51, Furnaces and kilns], is referred to.
