Abstract
374, 985. Heating water by electricity. PETRIE, D. G., 40, Guessens Court, and YOUNG, OSMOND & YOUNG, Ltd., Unity Works, both in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. April 1, 1931, No. 9917. [Class 39 (iii).] The heating element 9 and the outlet pipe 4 are independently mounted on a plate 8 secured to the tank by a union nut 16 engaging a screwed ferrule 15. Lugs 18 on the plate co-operate with pins 19 on the ferrule to retain the plate in position while the nut is being removed from or screwed on to the ferrule. The inner end of the ferrule is swaged over. The outlet pipe is surrounded by an air tube 5 to which it is coupled at its upper end by a syphon element as described in Specification 367,181.
