Abstract

365,663. Heating water by electricity. LEVEY, A.J., 16, Hartford Street, London. Oct. 28, 1930, No. 32379. [Class 39 (iii).] A heater of the type comprising an insulating body 10 having a series of passageways containing heating elements and connected to form a tortuous water path is provided with a seating connection 26 which enables it to be detachably supported from a tap or nozzle and makes a watertight joint with the tap. The insulating body 10 of porcelain or hard rubber is clamped between closure members 20, 21 by a bolt 19. The seating connection 26 is screwed into the member 20. The member 21 carries the terminals 32 and.forms the outlet. There are two series of passageways each fitted with a set of heating elements. The water flows in parallel through the two series and the element sets are connected in parallel. A chain on the connection 26 serves as an earth connection.
