[Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group II] In the heating of liquids by passage of current through them, incrustation of the electrodes is prevented by making them of copper 94.3 per cent., silicon 3.5 per cent., and manganese 2.2 per cent.; or copper 70 per cent. and nickel 30 per cent. The electrodes are made in the form of gauze or cloth.
