Abstract

415,983. Valve generating circuits. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. April 24, 1934, No. 12334. Convention date, April 25, 1933. [Class 40 (v).] Intermittent current impulses are generated from an alternating-current source 11 by the use of a discontinuous-control triode valve 12 connected in series with the source 11 and with a resistance 13. A positive half-cycle of current passes through the valve, and charges up a condenser 14 by virtue of the voltage developed across the resistance 13. The negative side of this condenser is connected to the grid of the valve which prevents the passage of further current. The condenser gradually discharges through an adjustable resistance 15, and after a determined number of cycles of the source 11 the valve is again conductive. Intermittent current impulses are thus passed through the load resistance 10.
