[Class 38 (ii)] [See also Group XL] In an arc converter the control grid 5 is connected through a resistance 42 with a Selsyn motor 43, and a screening electrode 16 is connected through a resistance 40 with another Selsyn motor 41, the arrangement providing a sensitive adjustment of the phases of the potentials applied to the grid and screening electrode for initiating the arc.
