Abstract

514,940. Valve generating circuits. WHITE, E. L. C. March 7. 1938, No. 7067. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] A multivibrator is arranged to give trains of impulses of different duration under control of two sets of control pulses. Negative pulses of duration G, Fig. 2, are applied to terminal A and so are fed to the grid of valve V2. Under control of these pulses, impulses of duration F are produced at terminal C, the duration being determined by the valves of condenser C2 and resistance R2 and by the potential at D. The potential at D is varied by a second series of control pulses B1, Fig. 2, applied at terminal B so that for the duration of these pulses the output pulses of the multivibrator have a duration H, the output waveform being of the form shown at C1 in Fig. 2. The mean potential at point D can be adjusted at P. Specifications 455,858, 456,840 and 470,495 are referred to. The invention can be used for the mixing and diffusing of line and frame synchronising pulses in television. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 499,755.
