[Class 40 (iii)] In order to impose on the synchronizing impulses derived from a light siren or equivalent generator 6, 7, 8 a more uniform spacing and amplitude, the impulses are applied to a filter amplifier V1 ... V4 comprising a series of highly selective tuned circuits with reaction coupling, while the final valve V4 functions as an amplitude limiter, in one direction of swing by permitting a flow of grid current via resistance 4, and in the other direction by so reducing the anode potential that the anode oscillations exceed the anode potential. The control potential so corrected is utilized to excite an impulse apparatus, e.g. a relaxation oscillation generator adapted to generate a synchronization impulse of predetermined form. Preferably the coils employed in the tuned circuits are provided with iron-powder cores.
