[Class 64 (i)] A gas-heating unit for a domestic water tank comprises a U-tube A mounted on a cover plate P adapted to be attached to a tank manhole and provided with an elongated multi-jet gas burner O fixed in and extending along most of the length of one leg of the U-tube A, which has heat-conducting ribs and a chimney M. A thermostatic gas control K is mounted in the tank, and a pilot jet J, air control nut F, and gas jet control screw H are provided.
