[Class 39 (iii).] In an electric water heater comprising a tank a with a jacketed casing d therein enclosing a heating element b, and a tube j conveying heated water from the jacket to the top of the tank, the casing is provided with a flange e removably secured to a counterflange c attached to the tank so that the casing can be removed for cleaning or repair, The tube j is removably secured to the casing to facilitate fitting the heater to existing tanks, and the flange e carries a thermostat l. The casing d and tube j are provided with heat insulating air jackets.
