Abstract

The water heater has an internal water tank and an external casing, the intervening space being filled with heat-insulating material, preferably in foam or cellular form. The casing, which can accommodate a flanged plate carrying the heater, consists of a separate plastics cap (6) joined to the remaining part (4), which is preferably of metal. The intervening space between the casing is filled by the insulating material (23), preferably introduced in foam form. The cap may have a first flat portion (10) forming the outside wall, and a second one at an angle to the first (11) and extending towards the water tank (1). This second section (11) encloses a recess in the external casing, accommodating the flanged plate.
