Abstract

Hatching and rearing appliances. - A heatradiator or hot air tank for use in incubators or the like, is arranged so that the hot air from the heater is admitted at a point as far removed as possible from that side of the incubator through which the air is supplied. As shown in Figs. 1 and 2, the tank comprises a pair of ducts D, D' of rectangular cross-section fitted to a base-plate d which forms the lower wall thereof. The hot air inlet pipe E is connected to pipes e, e<1> which conduct the air to the further end of the ducts, at which point partitions d, d' deflect the current. An outlet pipe 0 is provided, and an automatic damper may be arranged on a vertical branch B extending from the inlet pipe E. The upper part of the heater may be packed with asbestos &c. within the casing F.
