Abstract

111,208. Hamilton, R. C. Feb. 1, 1917. Hatching and rearing appliances.-An incubator of the type provided with a nursery chamber H below the egg chamber G has a ventilation pipe 11 for drawing off foul air from the nursery arranged between the double walls D, E of the incubator, this pipe extending through the heating chamber of the incubator to a centrally arranged outlet, the discharge from which is controlled by a damper carried by a pivoted rod 14. The rod 14 passes below the heat-regulator lever I and is engaged by a thumb-screw passing through this lever, thus being moved at the same time as the heat-regulator lever. An air-inlet pipe 10 discharging into the heating chamber F is situated between the double walls of the incubator and is provided with a hand-operated damper 12 to control the inflow of air. The ventilating pipes may be duplicated in large incubators.
