Abstract
369,021. Draft regulating mechanism for spinning -machines. SOC. ANON. OFFICINA MECCANICA ST. ANDREANOVARA, 18, Via Leonardo da Vinci, Novara, Italy. April 7, 1931, No. 10204. Convention date, April 10, 1930. [Class 120 (ii).] A device for transmitting g movement from the front to the back rollers of drawing mechanism in spinning machines is characterized by the combination in series of two variable speed mechanisms, having stepped gears and movable gears, inserted between the drawing roller and the actuating members of the back roller of the drawing mechanism. An extension 1<1> of the drawing roller 1 is coupled by a pair of gears 5, 6 to a shaft 7 part of which is encased in the casing 8. A wheel 20 mounted so as to be slidable on, but to rotate with, the shaft 7 engages with a second wheel 21, mounted on an arm 22 connected to the wheel 20. By means of a handle 22<1> the wheels 20, 21 may be moved so that the wheel 21 engages with one of three stepped wheels 9, 10, 11 mounted on a shaft 18. At the other end of the shaft 18 a pair of wheels 23, 24 similar to the pair 20, 21 is mounted so that by means of a handle 25<1> the wheel 24 may be moved to engage one of the stepped wheels 12 .. 17 on the shaft 19. At the end of the shaft 19 and outside the casing 8 is mounted a wheel 26 which engages with a wheel 27 mounted on an extension 3<1> of one of the intermediate rollers 3 which are connected to the back roller 2 and to one another by a train of gears 4. The wheels 26, 27 may be changed to enhance the number of transmission ratios provided by the variable speed devices. A hinged cover is provided for the casing 8.
