Abstract
367,691. Road vehicle bodies. ELCORO, R., 5A, Calle de Comonfort, Mexico City. June 23, 1931, No. 18197. [Class 108 (i).] In vehicle body frames comprising a series of transverse hoops the latter include channel members having upturned ends and being secured to the chassis members. The body frame is formed of longitudinally spaced hoop frames and longitudinally extending members connected thereto. The hoop frames comprise a channelled metal U-shaped member 2, 3, wooden pillars 5 which are notched to enter the channelled members 2, 3 and bow roof members 9. The wooden pillars extend below the members 2, 3 and are connected to longitudinal members 12. The hoop frames are mounted on the chassis 1 through cushioning wooden battens 4 which are inserted in the channels of the members 2, 3. Longitudinal members 7, 8 are provided, metal cruciform fittings connecting the pillars 5, bows 9 and members 8. Adjacent the wheels in order to maintain a uniform distance between the pillars 5 the latter are mounted in brackets 11, Fig. 5, on metal bridge-pieces 10 connected to adjacent hoop frames.
