[Classes 108 (i) and 108 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXII A combined body underframe and chassis frame for vehicles includes a main side sill consisting of a flat vertical member 10 contoured to conform with the lower side margins of the vehicle and hollow section reinforcements secured to the inner and outer faces of 'the web member in different longitudinal regions thereof to present a substantially continuous box-section sill structure extending from end to end of the vehicle. The hollow reinforcements 14, 12 are secured to the inside of the web member and extend from its ends to the threshold region. This region has a reinforcement 40 on its outside overlapping the ends of the inside reinforcements. These built-up side members are connected by body flooring and cross-members of angular and hodlow section. One of these, 23, is large enough to serve as a container for electric storage batteries. A deep reinforcement may be built up of parts 48, 49. Specification 418,257 is referred to.
