Abstract
416,451. Vehicle bodies. DURAMIN ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., 23, Hythe Road, Willesden, London, and OGLETHORPE, E. L., 14, Grafton Road, Harrow, Middlesex. July 20, 1933, No. 20501. [Class 108 (i).] The body underframes of road vehicles comprise longitudinal and transverse members strengthened by gusset plates, the longitudinal members consisting of two parallel members arranged vertically one above the other and connected together by vertical members secured to gusset plates fixed vertically on the transverse members. The body underframe comprises transverse channel members a connected to spaced longitudinal angle or T-members b<1>, b<2> which are interconnected by tie posts c, c<1>, disposed on either side of gusset plates d which are riveted to the members a and to the tie posts c, c<1>. The members b<2> rest upon and are secured to the chassis members h<1>, h<2>. The gusset plates d may extend to each side of the tie posts and additional posts c<2> similar to post c<1> and parallel thereto may be provided as shown in Fig. 1. One or more plates w may be riveted to the webs of the upper and lower longitudinal members b<1>, b<2>. Specification 343,736 is referred to.
