Abstract

668,922. Road-vehicle bodies. DAIMLERBENZ AKT.-GES. Jan. 2, 1950 [Dec. 31, 1948], No. 81/50. Class 108(i) [Also in Group X] A vehicle body comprises roof, top-side, waist-rail, and floor longitudinals 1, 2, 3 and 7, connected by roof bows 6, window columns 4 and vertical ribs 5. The floor comprises continuous transverse members 10 having interrupted longitudinals 11 butt-welded to the sides, the joint being reinforced by plates 13 welded to the members at the upper and lower sides and to support the ends of the structure diagonal members 12 are secured to the ends of the longitudinals 11, at 14 and 15 and to themselves and a transverse member 10 at 16. The diagonals 12 are further braced by a transverse member 17. The floor members 7, 10'and 11 are preferably of hollow rectangular section whilst the members 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are of hollow section formed by two top-hat pressedmetal sections. having their flanges spotwelded.
