Abstract

1349844 Vehicle frames MOULTON DEVELOPMENT Ltd 30 June 1971 [28 April 1970] 20344/70 Headings B7B and B7D A vehicle frame comprises a hollow skeletal backbone which is trapezoidal in transverse cross-section and formed of upper and lower five sided hollow longitudinals 1, 2, each pair being braced apart by cruciform structures 45, Fig. 11, and the sides of the backbone being braced by inclined struts 47 which terminate adjacent the extremities of the cruciform structures. The frame may be strengthened in the region of wheel supporting brackets 35, Fig. 6, by cross-members 6 and braces 7. The backbone is strengthened by diagonal braces D, Fig. 3, or by A or U brackets, not shown. A hoof like structure, Fig. 7 (not shown), united with the backbone is glazed and cladded to form a coach body, Fig. 12 (not shown). Specification 1,342,364 is referred to.
