Abstract
296,075. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. Aug. 25, 1927, [Convention date]. Underframing of bodies.-A welded underframe for a railway vehicle has the corner plates a<1> and the gusset plates e<2>, e<3>arranged in a manner so as to be located in the plane either of a flange or of the web of at least one of the bars to be connected. At the junction of the side bars A and end bars B the top flange of the bar A is cut away to the width of the, top flange of the bar B and a corner plate a<1> is welded to both flanges. The abutting end of the bar A is welded to the web of the bar B and a corner piece a<2>, Fig. 2, is welded to the bottom flange of the bar A and to the web of the bar B. Gusset plates d<1>, d<2> similarly connect the flanges of the diagonals D with the bars A and B. The centre longitudinals A are welded to cross-bars E and are also connected thereto by gusset plates e<2> located in the plane of the lower flanges of the longitudinals C and which are welded to the upper Ranges of the cross-bars E. The ends of the cross-bars E are welded to the side-bars A partly by their abutting ends and partly by a gusset plate e<3> which is connected to the web of the bar A. A gusset plate e<1> is also welded to the upper flange of the cross-bar E and the web of the bar A. The abutting ends of the centre longitudinals C are similarly connected to the bar B by gusset plates c<1>, c<2>, connected to the flanges of the bar C and web of the bar B.
