Abstract

366,913. Wireless receiving apparatus. HARMER, F. E., Raydale, Chatburn, Lancashire. Oct. 9, 1930, No. 30228. [Class 40 (v).] Wireless sets &c. are protected against lightning by means of a fusible conductor 18 anchored between a bracket 16 connected to the aerial terminal of the set and a spring blade 5 connected to the aerial. The arm 5 springs against a bracket 13 when the fuse melts, and so connects the aerial direct to earth via the bracket 13, to which the earth terminal of the set is also connected. The latter may however be dispensed with and a carrying bracket may be provided for directly mounting on the aerial lead-in.
