Abstract
329,036. Standard Telephones &. Cables, Ltd., (Scruby, S. V. C., Montel, A., and Vial, J.). Feb. 15, 1929. Fusible cut-outs.-A fuse comprising a wire 6 attached to a plunger 8 which is moved downwards by a spring 12 when the wire breaks, is provided with an indicating device 11 surrounding the wire. The indicator consists of a glass tube which is kept in contact with the plunger by the spring and is coloured over its top half which is visible through inspection holes 3 when the plunger falls. The fuse is intended for use with telephone systems and is mounted in a socket 24 on an arm 21 which is carried on a frame which also supports a heat coil 15 and lightning arrester 16. The plunger 8 of the fuse rests against a spring 25 which when the fuse breaks is depressed and first makes contact with a spring 26 to earth the subscriber's line and then causes springs 26, 30 to make contact and complete an alarm circuit.
