Abstract
345,903. Fusible cut-outs. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Hewlett, E. M. ; 70, Union Avenue, Schenectady, New York, U.S.A.) June 30, 1930, No. 19868. Convention date, June 28, 1929. [Class 38 (i). A fuse 8 is clamped between metal discs 14, 16 and an insulating disc 13 by means of a metal plug 15 screwed into a metal housing 11, which is in turn screwed to an insulating tube 10 containing a conductor 17, which may also be fusible, under tension of a spring 18. The conductor 17 is connected at one end in a circuit 4 to be protected, and at the other to an intermediate point of the fuse 8, so that the current divides through the two parts of the latter. The spring 18 is stated to eject the conductor 17 from the tube 10 on rupture of the fuse 8.
