Abstract

517,098. Electric cut-outs. LANGE, E. Aug. 19, 1938, No. 24502. Convention date, August 19, 1937. [Class 38 (i)] A fuse is provided with two elements connected by a conducting rod 4. one element 3 being slightly longer than the other element 2 and being connected to its terminal by means of a flexible cable 7 whilst the element 2 is connected directly to its terminal. Fusion of the element 3 produces a blast in the insulating medium which extinguishes the arc formed as the other element 2 fuses. The fuse element 3 may be surrounded by a casing as in Specification 455,115, and the outlet 12 may be provided with a closure cap.
