Abstract
932,676. Fusible cut-outs. E. LANGE, and NATIONAL INDUSTRI A.S. April 19, 1961 [April 25, 1960], No. 14090/61. Class 38 (1). An electrical fuse wire comprises a fusible conductor in direct fixed mechanical connection with granular sand. The sand 2 may be stuck on to the conductor 1 by means of a binder, or may be applied to the heated, glowing conductor to become embedded therein. A tubular conductor may be used, Fig. 3 (not shown), with the said fixed both to the inside and outside thereof. The sand and the conductor material may be intermingled and the mixture fused together, Fig. 5 (not shown). An insulating cover may surround the conductor, Fig. 7 (not shown), preferably of a material that produces a spark-quenching gas on heating.
