969,635. Thermal switches. J. CARLSEN. April 24, 1961 [May 3, 1960], No. 14772/61. Heading H2B. In order to obtain good thermal connection and good electrical insulation between a fusible element of a safety cut-out and the soleplate 1 of an electric flat iron the element 8 is situated on the projecting end of an electrode 6 connected to the heater 2 and serves to hold a supply conductor 7 in electrical contact therewith. Element 8 comprises a soldered joint and conductor 7 is coiled in the form of a spring acting to pull it away from the electrode 6 if the solder 8 melts due to overheating of the iron.
