[Class 38 (i).] Terminals, for rotary switches which are mounted on contact-carrying members projecting through the cylindrical switch casing, are formed with the lateral entry for the lead into the terminal block directed towards the wall of the switch casing in order to facilitate the connecting of the leads when the switch itself is mounted within a protective outer casing. Fig. 1 shows a known form of terminal block 1 secured on a contact-carrying member 5 passing through the insulating switch wall 4, the lateral entry 10 for the lead being concealed when the switch is secured within a protective casing 8 as shown in Fig. 2. With terminals 3 constructed in accordance with the invention as shown in Figs. 3 and 4, however, the entry 30 to the terminal 3 through which the lead is introduced before being clamped in position by the screw 31 is directed towards the periphery of the switch casing so that during the connecting up of the switch when mounted within an outer casing as shown in Fig. 3 this lead entry is in view. Moreover, a smaller diameter casing, as indicated by the dotted line, may be employed for a switch with terminals of this type.
