Abstract
741,117. Fusible cut-outs. MELBOURN, W. F., BESWICK, D. G. E., and BESWICK, K. E. June 22, 1954 [July 24, 1953], No. 20634/53. Class 38 (1). In a fuse of the kind comprising an insulating body 1 carrying an element 10 held under tension between leaf-springs 7, 8 so that on rupture of the element the springs move outwardly to give an indication that the fuse has blown, the body 1 is formed with three parallel passages 2, 3, 4, the element passing through the passage 4 at the centre of the body and the other passages 2, 3 being located adjacent the ends of the body and being of slot-like shape to receive the bentover ends of the springs and the ends of contact lugs 5, 6. The ends of the springs and lugs may be soldered or welded together and the passages 2, 3 have shallow ribs 9 which are easily scraped away by forcing the lugs and springs into the passages whereby a tight fit is obtained.
