Abstract
505,388. Electric cut-outs. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., and POOLEY, A. M. Dec. 14, 1937, No. 34608. [Class 38 (i)] A fuse element adapted to fuse initially at an intermediate portion comprises two or more fuse wires 1, of the same material, arranged side by side and additional wires 4 and 5 forming branches at the ends. The intermediate part 1a may be enclosed in heat insulating material in the form of beads 7, Fig. 4, sleeves, or powder 10, Fig. 5, and the intermediate part may be divided into sections by one or more branched conductors, Fig. 3. Specifications 341,281, 355,129, and 416,656 are referred to. According to the Provisional Specification, the element may be formed from a number of strands twisted together, some of the strands being removed from the central portion.
