Abstract

508,169. Fusible cut-outs. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Oct. 17, 1938. No. 30017. Convention date, Oct. 16, 1937. [Class 38 (i)] A fuse element consists of a length of foundation metal with a superposed metal of lower melting point capable of alloying with the foundation metal to lower its eonductivity and applied. or shaped so as to provide a number of boundary lines distributed over the element to ensure fusing throughout its length. In Fig. 1, the more fusible metal 2 is applied at intervals and in Fig. 6 it may consist of a single indented strip applied by pressure. The separate portions 2 may be of double wedge form, as shown in Fig. 3, and they and the indented strips may be applied to both sides of the foundation strip. Specification 217,625, [Class 38 (i)], is referred to.
