Abstract
261,277. Mason, A. E. May 11, 1926. With resistances in bulbs and holders; holders. -A tell-tale lamp has a conductor mounted in parallel with its filament, the relative resistances of the conductor and filament being such that only a small proportion of the current passes through the lamp filament. The current passes from the battery 1 through the main 2 and back through the main 3, the signalling lamps 4, 5 being arranged across the mains. The tell-tale lamp 6 has a resistance 7 in parallel with the filament 8 as shown and does not light up when no signal lamp is on. In Fig. 3, the resistance 9 is wound on an insulating support 10 placed inside the tube 11; one end is connected to a pin 12 which makes contact with the pole 13 of the lamp, and the other end 14 is secured to the tube 11. The lead 18 from the battery is. held between the ends of a metal clip 15 surrounding the tube. The other lead 19 from the battery is connected to a terminal 20 which is connected to the contact 12. The second end of the lamp filament is connected to the lamp cap which contacts with the tube 11. In the case of a single pole or double pole lamp, the conductor may be mounted on a separate bobbin suitably mounted. Specification 253,980 [Class 118 (ii), Signals], is referred to.
