Alarms operated by fusible devices.-In electrically-operated fire alarms wherein contacts for completing the circuit are arranged within a casing a provided at its upper end with a coverplate b and at its lower end with a supporting- frame e for a fusible link f, the movable contact plate m is carried by a plug l of insulating-material disposed within the central hole of a deflectible metal diaphragm d held up by the link. The link comprises supplementary parts g, h, Fig. 3, attached by soft-solder, and on collapse of the link, the diaphragm d forces down the plug l, held in a cup k, and the contact plate m then makes contact with a plate p supported on an insulating diaphragm n secured by a ring o. The support e is screwed into the casing a and supports the end of the fusible link by a knife-edged or pointed pin j which is screwed into the support or is held in position by a pin j'.
