Abstract

364,263. Couplings ; fusible cut-outs. RAINS, A. B., (trading as CHAPMAN, E.), 146, Bishopsgate, London. Nov. 20, 1930, No. 34977. [Class 38 (i).] The base a of an insulator enclosing a fuse for mounting outdoors has a central screw-threaded hole a<1> to receive a supporting pin. The base is hollow and contains contacts b bent to S-shape and connected to the line conductors that enter from below through holes a<4>. A lip e surrounding the well a<2> in the base is gapped at c to pass the ends of a barrier d<1> on the cover d, the cover being then secured by rotating it. Contacts f on the cover carry a fuse wire that runs longitudinally through a hole g in the barrier d<1>. The rotational movement of the cover brings the contacts f under the upper limb of the contacts b and completes the circuit.
