Abstract
366,374. Changing signs. COLLYEAR, J. R., Leverno, Beechcroft Road, Bushey, Hertfordshire, and BAPTY, S. L., 60, Craven Park Road, Harlesden, London. May 2, 1931, No. 13003. [Class 3 (i).] Reversing mechanism for non-endless band display apparatus comprises a manually rotated shaft d mounted in bearings c so as to be fixed in the direction of its length. The shaft d carries a skew gear wheel h, h<1> at each end, which engage a skew pinion o, o<1> on each roller axis. The pinions o, o<1> turn about fixed sleeves p, Fig. 5, and are slidable thereon to bring an integral clutch surface q into or out of engagement with a peg r fixed to the roller spindle extension n. The peg r is disposed on the inner side of the pinion o and on the outer side of the pinion o<1>. A brake in the form of a wire spring w lying in a slot in the sleeve p, or of a pin projecting from the sleeve y and engaging a slot in the pinion o, o<1>, is provided to ensure positive lateral movement of the pinion. The bearings c act as spacers for a framework b in which the reversing mechanism is mounted.
