Abstract

349,785. Changing signs. JUPP, R., 6, Castle Avenue, Sandal, Wakefield, and KELLETT, A. F., 24, York Place, Leeds. June 4, 1930, No. 17150. [Class 3 (i).] In a route or destination indicator for vehicles, comprising a display band 1 wound on and off two rollers 2, 3 each of which is driven through gearing positively in one direction only by a one-way clutch according to the direction in which the handle is rotated, the clutch consists of a sliding sleeve 7 fixed to the handle 6. The sleeve 7 has upper and lower ratchet teeth which engage teeth 8 on the spindle 9 geared to the upper roller 2 or teeth 10 on a. sleeve 11 geared to the lower roller 3. The stub spindles 18 are supported in resilient bearings 20 to facilitate removal of the rollers. The rollers may be provided with band or other brakes.
