Abstract

345,916. Parallel rulers. HAHN, H., 8, Olbersstrasse, Charlottenburg, Berlin. Aug. 8, 1930, No. 23854. [Class 97 (iii).] A ruler, comprising a casing in which two parallel rollers are mounted, has means for controlling the movement of one of the rollers to enable lines to be drawn at predetermined intervals. In the form shown, one of the rollers 2, which are provided with sleeves 3 of rubber or the like, carries at one end a ratchet wheel 4, engaged by a spring pawl 5 on the casing 1. To enable different ratchet wheels to be placed on the roller the end walls 9 of the casing are made yieldable by slots 10 so that the rollers 2 whose axle pins 6 seat in cups 11 in the walls 9 may be readily removed. Alternatively the walls 9 are rigid with the casing and are provided at one end with bearing cups and at the other with screws.
