Abstract

365,078. Cartons for electric lamps &c. BRITANNIA FOLDING BOX CO., Ltd. and ROBINSON, E., Dace Road, Old Ford, London. Oct. 14, 1930, No. 30760. [Class 18.] A carton for packing fragile articles such as electric lamps or wireless valves has a tubular liner 11, Fig. 1, somewhat longer than the carton with slots 12 and creases 14 and is provided at one end with a flap 15 larger than the end of the carton and having a perforation 16 and a crease 17. Corner pieces 31 overlap the ends of the slots 12 which are last to enter the carton when the liner is pushed in. The liner is first pushed into the carton with the bulb end downwards so that the flap 15 assumes a V shape. The bulb is then introduced and the outer end of the liner pressed into the carton so that the portions 13 between the slots 12 grip the bulb. In another form shown in Fig. 3, the portions 13 are so shaped as to provide spring tongues 22 of the configuration shown, and the flap 15 is replaced by a platform 24. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 338,271, [Class 18, Boxes &c.].
