Boxes made from special blanks; fittings internal.-A collapsable cardboard, strawboard &c. box or carton for fragile articles such as electric lamps, thermionic valves, or bottles is formed from a blank shaped as shown in Fig. 3 with a supporting socket e for maintaining the article suspended slightly away from the walls extending from one edge of a marginal portion f so that the supporting socket is slightly offset from the diagonal of the box. The edges e<2>, e<4>. e<6> are divergent with respect to the longitudinal edges of the walls a, b, c when the blank is flat and the edge e<5> with respect to the lateral edges in order that the socket may readily open out and be correctly positioned. The top is formed by flaps b<1>, c<1>, d<1> and the bottom by flaps a<1>, b<2>, d<2>.
