Abstract
437,698. Cartons for electric lamps. HUTCHINGS, R., 135, Dowsett Road, Tottenham, London. Dec. 14, 1934, No. 35876. [Class 18] A carton for electric lamps &c. is made from the blank shown in Fig. 1, flaps 11, 12 folding inwards to form a V-shaped support in the cap end of the lamp &c., the flap being positioned by a tongue 19 engaging a slot 18 and by a tongue 25 which engages the edges of flap 11 to position the flaps. The cap engages within registering openings 16, 21, flaps 24 engaging the pins of the cap, while the shoulder of the cap is engaged by the apex of the V. The wall 4 of the carton serves as a lid. Flaps 13, 14 fold in the manner shown in Fig. 3 to serve as supports for the bulb of the lamp &c. In the form shown in Figs. 7 and 9, a flap 39 forms a V-shaped support for the cap and is held in position by a tongue 40. The aperture 43 for the cap has curved ends and the lugs 45 are formed with V-notches. In this modification the body is completed by glueing a flap 35 to a panel 27. The securing means 9, 35, Figs. 1 and 7, may be interchanged.
