Abstract

364,826. Electric battery lamps. BOSCH AKT.-GES., R., 4, Militõrstrasse, .Stuttgart, Germany. Dec. 30, 1930, No. 39123. Convention date, Dec. 30, 1929. [Class 39 (ii).] An electric battery lamp adapted for use as a cycle lamp, with a reflector 3 mounted in a cover ring 2 at the front of the casing 1 and a battery 7 mounted in the casing with its pole lugs directed to the side walls, is provided with at least one contact spring which bears against a pole lug of the battery as is directed towards the wall of the casing lying opposite the cover ring, thereby facilitating the insertion and withdrawal of the battery and enabling a good contact to be obtained. In the example a two-armed contact spring 4, 5 is secured to the side wall of the casing, with one arm 4 extending rearwardly into contact with a pole lug 6 of the battery while the other arm 5 bears upon the hollow reflector 3 and provides a connection to the lamp. The other pole lug of the battery bears against a contact spring which is mounted upon a switch plate on the rear wall of the casing and is bent reversely towards the rear wall. The battery is secured in position by the lateral portions 13, 14 of a resilient metal strip 12 secured to the rear wall of the casing. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes also the formation of a cable clip or lug at the end of the hinge bolt which connects the cover ring to the casing, so that a cable passing therethrough from the lamp holder mounted in the reflector to a terminal on the rear wall of the casing may be looped to enable the cover ring to be opened freely. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
