[Class 20 (iii).] A regulator for sliding windows, particularly of vehicles, boats, houses, &c., comprises a chain a connected to a bracket b<1> on the sash and sc constrained by a guide c<11> that it can exert a thrust as well as a pull on the sash when actuated by the sprocket d and handle and gear e, d<1>. The chain is also connected to a spring drum g which partly counterbalances the weight of the sash. A guard f may be provided over the sprocket d. The guide c<11> surrounds the chain and has a groove for the connecting pin a<1>.
