[Class 20 (iii).] Sliding sashes are adapted to be moved out of the frame by disengaging therefrom a sash guide 18 hinged at 19 and movable by means of a cranked rod 20. The crank engages a slot in the guide beneath a plate 23. Stops 27 on a sleeve 25 limit rotation of the crank to 180‹ and by withdrawing the sleeve the crank may by rotation in the opposite direction be disengaged from the guide through an opening beneath the plate 23. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a balancing and holding device for the sashes consisting of sash chains connected to weights and passing over sprockets which may be locked by a pivoted lever adapted to be held in recesses in the frame in or out of engagement with a sprocket. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
