Abstract
485,736. Sluice gates. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG AKT.- GES. Dec. 9, 1937, No. 34161. Convention date, Dec. 9, 1936. [Class 68 (ii)] Horizontally sliding lock gates are constructed with means for providing a roadway on the top when they are closed consisting of a train of carriage-like elements c<1>-c<5> pivoted together and supported on rollers c, the end carriage c<1> being pivoted to the forward end of the gate a so that, on the gate being run into the gate chamber b, the elements are pushed on to the top of the gate chamber cover b<1> which forms one of the approach roads. The rollers e run up the ramp g on to the cover b. A<1> section c<6> hinged to the end element c5 closes the gap over the ramp when the gate is closed.
